MLB: Arizona 3, San Diego 1

PHOENIX, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Chris Young put Arizona ahead with a two-run homer in the fourth inning Saturday and the Diamondbacks held on for a 3-1 victory over San Diego.

Young ended the day 2-for-3 and Miguel Montero added two hits for the National League West-leading Diamondbacks, who won their fifth straight game.

Joe Saunders (9-11) made the lead hold up, throwing seven innings in which he allowed only one unearned run on four hits while fanning three batters.

Padres starter Aaron Harang (12-4) was touched for only two earned runs on seven hits in a six-inning effort, during which he struck out eight.
