PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- A grand slam home run by John Buck gave Florida a five-run lead in the sixth inning Friday and the Marlins held on to edge Philadelphia 6-5.
The Phillies lost their second straight, but maintained a 6 1/2-game lead over second-place Atlanta in the National League East after the Braves were blanked by the New York Mets.
Greg Dobbs gave Florida a 2-1 lead in the fourth with an RBI double and Buck gave the Marlins some cushion with his 16th homer of the year. The grand slam came off Roy Oswalt (6-8).
The Phillies immediately got back in it on Ryan Howard's three-run blast in the bottom of the sixth and Philadelphia threatened to come all the way back in the ninth.
Michael Martinez delivered an RBI double with one out to bring the Phillies within one, but Steve Cishek then retired the next two batters to preserve the victory and collect his third save.
Clay Hensley (2-5) gave up three runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings to get the win.
