MLB: Baltimore 6, Minnesota 1

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Jeremy Guthrie allowed a lone run in seven innings Wednesday and the Baltimore Orioles scored five times in the fifth to defeat Minnesota 6-1.

Guthrie (6-16) gave up five hits and struck out five. It was his first victory in four starts and brought Baltimore its third consecutive win.

Justin Morneau's RBI single gave Minnesota the lead in the third and the Orioles still trailed heading into the fifth. Baltimore sent 10 men to the plate in that inning, producing five runs on six hits -- all of them charged to Kevin Slowey (0-2).

Mark Reynolds homered to open the inning and, one out later, Jake Fox reached on a single.

Nolan Reimold's triple brought home Fox and Ryan Adams doubled home Reimold. After J.J. Hardy singled Adams to third, Nick Markakis drew a walk that loaded the bases, and Matt Wieters finished off the inning with a two-out double that brought home two runs.
