TORONTO, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Brett Lawrie hit a tiebreaking solo homer in the seventh Wednesday that lifted the Toronto Blue Jays to a 4-3 victory over Kansas City.
The Blue Jays rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the fourth on a two-run blast by Jose Bautista and Lawrie's RBI triple later in the inning.
Kansas City tied it in the fifth on Alex Gordon's homer before Lawrie hit his fourth of the season off reliever Louis Coleman (1-3).
The Royals' first two runs were both driven in by Billy Butler, on a double in the first and a single in the third.
Jesse Litsch (5-3) worked the seventh inning to get the win. Frank Francisco worked around a leadoff walk in the ninth for his 11th save.
Bautista's homer was his 37th, which leads the majors. Toronto won for the seventh time in 11 games.
