MLS: Los Angeles 2, San Jose 0

CARSON, Calif., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Robbie Keane made his debut with Los Angeles a good one Saturday, scoring in the 21st minute of the Galaxy's 2-0 win over San Jose.

Irish international Keane joined the Galaxy this week from Tottenham Hotspur and paid immediate dividends when he collected a David Beckham long ball and slipped past goalie Jon Busch for a goal in the 21st minute.

Mike Magee nailed down the victory with an injury time goal while Los Angeles (14-3-9).

The Galaxy were playing with a man advantage after the Earthquakes' Steven Beitashour had been sent off for reckless play in the 81st minute.

San Jose (5-10-10) saw its winless streak stretch to 12 games and watched its playoff hopes all but evaporate.
