SAN DIEGO, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Will Venable's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday lifted the San Diego Padres to a 4-3 victory and four-game sweep of Florida.
The Padres had seemed on their way to a 3-2 win in the top of ninth win but closer Heath Bell (3-4) surrendered a homer to Mike Cameron with two outs, allowing Florida to tie it up 3-3.
Nick Hundley responded in the next half-inning by belting a lead-off triple off Edward Mujica (8-5) that just missed going out for a homer.
After the Marlins intentionally walked the bases full, Mike Dunn entered and surrendered a game-winning hit to Venable.
The San Diego right fielder also smacked a first-inning homer and Kevin Blanks followed with a two-run double as the Padres finished with 7-0 record against the Marlins this season.
Mike Stanton also homered for Florida.
