
DENVER, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Seth Smith delivered a decisive two-run homer in the seventh inning Sunday, powering Colorado to a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Carlos Gonzalez also belted a two-run shot for the Rockies, who notched a win on a Sunday for the first time in 17 tries. Colorado's Sunday futility had set a major league record.
Kevin Millwood (1-1) collected his first win of the season, going seven innings while allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk. He fanned four.
Chad Billingsley (10-10) absorbed the loss for Los Angeles, giving up five runs (four earned) on three hits and five walks. The right-hander struck out seven strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings.
James Loney led the Dodgers at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI.
