Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ATLANTA, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Alex Gonzalez provided the game's only run with a solo homer in the third inning Sunday and the Atlanta Braves edged Arizona 1-0.
Tim Hudson (13-7) hurled seven shutout innings, yielding just three hits and three walks and striking out seven as the National League wild card-leading Braves completed a three-game sweep of the Diamondbacks.
Hudson improved to 6-0 in eight career starts against the D-Backs and Craig Kimbrel worked out of a ninth-inning jam to notch his 39th save of the year for Atlanta.
Arizona's Josh Collmenter (7-8) absorbed the hard-luck loss, surrendering one run on four hits through seven innings.
The NL West-leading D-backs sustained their fifth straight loss.
