DENVER, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Rod Barajas drove in four runs Friday, three of them with a third-inning homer that helped the Los Angeles Dodgers down Colorado 8-2.
The Dodgers won their second straight and moved into a tie with the Rockies for third place in the National League West, a distant 11 1/2 games behind division-leading Arizona.
Barajas singled in a run in the second to give Los Angeles a 2-0 lead and his home run finished off a four-run third.
Hiroki Kuroda (9-14) benefited from the early offense to get the win. He went six innings, allowing both runs on four hits with five strikeouts.
Four relievers combined to let only one runner reach base over the final three frames.
Jason Hammel (7-12) was roughed up for six runs on six hits in three innings to take the loss.
