PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Placido Polanco went back on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, this time with a sports hernia, the team said.

Polanco, who hasn't played since Aug. 6, missed 19 games in July with lower back inflammation.

The 35-year-old infielder is hitting .275 with four home runs and 40 RBI in 89 games this season.

The Phillies called up right-handed pitcher Michael Schwimer from Lehigh Valley. Schwimer is 9-1 with 10 saves, 86 strikeouts and a 1.88 earned run average in 46 games with the Class AAA club.

The team also put right-hander Joe Blanton on the 60-day disabled list. Blanton has been out since late April with right elbow inflammation.
