MILWAUKEE, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Zack Greinke teamed with two relievers to strike out 11 batters Wednesday and Milwaukee won its sixth in a row by downing the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1.

It was the 19th victory in 21 games for the Brewers, who maintained a seven-game lead over second-place St. Louis in the National League Central.

Greinke (12-4) went seven innings to get the win, allowing a run on five hits with eight strikeouts.

LaTroy Hawkins worked around a one-out single in the eighth and John Axford struck out the side in the ninth for his 36th save, tying Atlanta's Craig Kimbrel for most in the majors.

The game was scoreless into the sixth, when Jerry Hairston delivered a bases-loaded, two-run single to put the Brewers in front.

Tony Gwynn brought the Dodgers within one with a homer in the seventh. Milwaukee picked up an insurance run in the seventh when Jonathan Lucroy raced home from third on Josh Lindblom's wild pitch.

Nathan Eovaldi (1-1) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on five hits in six innings. It was only the third career start for Eovaldi, who won his major league debut last week.
