PHOENIX, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Henry Blanco's RBI double in the sixth inning put Arizona ahead Sunday and the Diamondbacks went on to sweep the New York Mets with a 5-3 victory.
Justin Upton brought the D-backs into a 3-3 tie with a solo shot in the fifth, and Arizona took the lead in the next frame when Paul Goldschmidt and Blanco hit back-to-back doubles.
Blanco added an insurance run in the eighth with a bases-loaded walk and Arizona used the win to maintain a two-game lead over San Francisco atop the National League West.
Zach Duke (3-4) earned the victory despite allowing two runs over 2 2/3 innings of emergency relief.
Duke was pressed into service in the fourth inning after starter Jason Marquis sustained a fractured right fibula from being hit by a batted ball.
Micah Owings and Bryan Shaw each tossed an scoreless frame and David Hernandez notched his 11th save with a 1-2-3 ninth for Arizona.
New York's Chris Capuano (9-11) absorbed the loss, surrendering four runs on nine hits over six innings.
Lucas Duda hit a solo homer and Angel Pagan went 3-for-5 with a run scored for the Mets.
