
MILWAUKEE, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Zack Greinke took a shutout into the eighth inning and won his fourth straight decision Friday in lifting the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-2 win over Pittsburgh.
The Brewers won for the 14th time in 16 games and stayed four games in front of second-place St. Louis in the National League Central.
Greinke (11-4) gave up six hits, two of them in the eighth before he was replaced by Francisco Rodriguez with two outs in the inning.
Milwaukee backed up its starting pitcher with a 13-hit attack that included solo homers from Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder during a three-run eighth. Casey McGehee had a two-run triple in the second.
Paul Maholm (6-13) was charged with the loss after giving up four runs on seven hits in five innings.
