
ATLANTA, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Starlin Castro went 4-for-5 and the Chicago Cubs beat Atlanta 8-4 Saturday despite the Braves' Dan Uggla extending his hitting streak to 33 games.
Castro stroked a pair of RBI singles, Carlos Pena also drove in two runs and Darwin Barney went 4-for-5 with an RBI for the Cubs, who evened their three-game set in Atlanta.
Randy Wells (4-4) earned the victory for Chicago, yielding two runs on eight hits over five-plus innings.
Uggla, meanwhile, kept his streak alive with a first-inning single, finishing the game 2- for-3 with a solo homer and two runs scored.
Braves starter Derek Lowe (7-11) was roughed up for five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over six frames.
Chipper Jones went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Braves, whose five-game wining streak was snapped.
