
ST. LOUIS, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Randy Wolf allowed a lone run over eight innings Wednesday in lifting the Milwaukee Brewers to their sixth straight win, 5-1 over St. Louis.
The Brewers have won two straight against the Cardinals, to move five games ahead of St. Louis in the National League Central.
Wolf (9-8) won his third straight start, allowing five hits without a walk. He retired 11 in a row at one point in Milwaukee's 13th victory in 14 games.
Prince Fielder had a sacrifice fly in the first and put Milwaukee in front for good with an RBI double in the third. Fielder then scored on a single by Yuniesky Betancourt.
Corey Hart delivered a two-run single in the ninth.
Francisco Rodriguez worked the ninth for the Brewers in a non-save situation and put two runners on with two out. He then got Yadier Molina on a ground out to end the game.
Jake Westbrook (9-6) suffered the loss, giving up three runs on six hits in eight innings. He walked five batters.
