MILWAUKEE, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- The Milwaukee Brewers said Wednesday they have placed pitcher Chris Narveson on the disabled list after he sliced his thumb in a trainer's room accident.

The team said the left-hander was working on his glove when he cut the thumb on his pitching hand. The wound required eight stitches to close.
