NEW YORK, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Ruben Tejada's bases-loaded walk in the eighth inning Tuesday capped a three-run rally that lifted the New York Mets to a 5-4 victory over San Diego.
Nick Evans' pinch-hit sacrifice fly tied the score before Tejada's walk off Josh Spence handed the Mets their second late-inning comeback in two games against the Padres.
The rally made a winner of D.J. Carrasco (1-2), who had tossed a scoreless top of the eighth inning. Jason Isringhausen hurled a perfect ninth for his sixth save of the year and the 299th of his career.
New York starter Chris Capuano went six-plus innings, yielding four runs on nine hits and a walk as the Mets won for the third time in four games.
San Diego's Chad Qualls (5-6) was tagged with the loss.
The Padres got two doubles and an RBI from Jesus Guzman.
