BOSTON, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Josh Reddick's RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning Sunday sent Boston to a 3-2 victory over the New York Yankees.

With runners on first and second and one out, Reddick stroked a Phil Hughes pitch down the left-field line for the walk-off win.

Dustin Pedroia had sent the game into extra innings with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning.

Marco Scutaro went 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Red Sox, who took a one-game lead over the Yankees in the American League East.
