CLEVELAND, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Indians said Monday they have put suspended starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.

Carrasco has been on a six-day suspension since Thursday for intentionally throwing near the head of Kansas City's Billy Butler in a July 29 game, but the disabled list move voids the suspension.

The right-hander still faces disciplinary action from Major League Baseball upon his return from the DL, however.

He has compiled an 8-9 record with a 4.55 ERA in 21 starts this season.
