
BALTIMORE, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Ricky Romero threw eight strong innings Sunday and the Blue Jays banged out 13 hits in their 7-2 victory over Baltimore.
Romero (10-9) posted his third win in three outings during which he has gone at least eight innings and allowed two or fewer runs in each start.
The left-hander allowed four hits over eight frames, striking out five and issuing no walks.
J.P. Arencibia and Jose Bautista each contributed two-run doubles and John McDonald added three hits and a pair of RBI for the Blue Jays, who took the rubber match of a three-game series.
The Jays' Brett Lawrie chipped in with his first major league homer.
O's starter Alfredo Simon (3-5) was lit up for six runs (four earned) on 10 hits while suffering the loss.
Mark Reynolds socked a pair of solo homers for Baltimore.
