LEXINGTON, Ohio, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Scott Dixon earned his first win of the year and teammate Dario Franchitti padded his IZOD IndyCar Series lead Sunday at the Honda Indy 200 in Ohio.

Pole-sitter Dixon took over the lead from Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Franchitti just after a late-race restart and then held off the Scotsman by 7.7 seconds for the victory.

It was Dixon's third career win at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, with the first two coming in 2007 and 2009.

Third place went to Ryan Hunter-Reay while Takuma Sato and Tony Kanaan rounded out the Top 5.

Franchitti's second-place finish gave him a 62-point lead over Will Power, who finished 14th at Mid-Ohio.
