NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Free-agent wide receiver Derrick Mason said Saturday he has chosen to play for the New York Jets this season.

Mason, 37, posted on his Twitter account, "Jet fuel is full. Time to fly."

The 14-year veteran replaces Jerricho Cotchery, who was released from the team Thursday.

Mason comes to the Jets after spending six seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He hauled down 61 passes for 802 yards and seven touchdowns for the Ravens last season.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection has made 924 catches for 11,891 yards and 66 touchdowns in a 218-game career with the Ravens and Tennessee Titans.
