HOUSTON, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A two-run single by Casey McGehee gave Milwaukee a quick start Friday and the Brewers rolled to an 8-1 triumph over Houston.
The NL Central Division-leading Brewers won for the ninth time in 10 games.
McGehee's hit finished off a three-run first inning and Milwaukee scored three more times in the third -- getting RBI singles from Yuniesky Betancourt and Jonathan Lucroy along with a sacrifice fly by Felipe Lopez.
Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo (13-7) picked up a win over the Astros for the second time in seven days. He gave up a run on four hits with six strikeouts in eight innings. Gallardo allowed Houston only an unearned run in a 6-2 win last Saturday.
J.A. Happ (4-14) set a dubious club record in taking the loss, becoming the first Houston pitcher to give up five runs or more in eight straight starts. Happ was charged with six runs on seven hits in four innings, falling to 1-10 in his last 14 starts.
