SEATTLE, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Mike Carp had three hits with two RBI and Charlie Furbush posted a win in his first Mariners start Wednesday, boosting Seattle to a 7-4 win over Oakland.
Carp's run-scoring groundout in the fifth put Seattle up 3-1, and he capped Seattle's attack with an eighth-inning RBI single as the Mariners completed a three-game sweep of the Athletics.
Ichiro Suzuki went 3-for-5 with two runs scored while Josh Bard and Casper Wells each added two RBI for the M's, who logged their first three-game winning streak in nearly a month.
Furbush (2-4), obtained from Detroit last week as a part of a six-player deal that sent Doug Fister to the Tigers, pitched well in his initial Seattle start and the third of his career.
The left-hander went five innings, allowing one run on just two hits while issuing no walks and striking out three.
Oakland's Gio Gonzalez (9-9), meanwhile, was lit up for six runs on 10 hits over 6 1/3 innings.
Josh Willingham bashed a three-run homer in the ninth for the A's.
