SAN DIEGO, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Hiroki Kuroda and two relievers pitched the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 1-0 win over Diego Tuesday.
Kuroda (7-13) held the Padres to four hits and two walks over seven inning before turning the ball over to Mike MacDougal and then Javy Guerra, who pitched the ninth for his ninth save.
Matt Kemp drove in the only run of the game for Los Angeles and then helped preserved the shutout with a diving catch in the ninth. Kemp singled home Dee Gordon in the fourth after Gordon reached on a bunt single and advanced to third on consecutive groundouts.
Matt Latos (5-11) took the loss. He gave up the game's only run on six hits over seven innings.
The win was the Dodgers' fifth in a row over the Padres, who have lost nine of their last 12.
Blake Tekotte, who was called up by the Padres Monday, went 3-for-4.
