Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

HOUSTON, July 31 (UPI) -- Brian Ching scored twice Saturday and the Houston Dynamo ended Seattle's nine-game unbeaten streak with a 3-1 victory over the Sounders.
After Colin Clark handed Houston 1-0 lead with a goal after 7 minutes, Ching made it 2-0 in the 23rd, receiving a left-wing cross from Geoff Cameron and nodding the ball into the net from 6 yards.
Alvaro Fernandez responded 14 minutes later for Seattle by converting a penalty kick, but Houston (6-7-9) regained their two-goal advantage when Clark set up Ching's second goal 20 minutes from time.
The victory was Houston's second win in the last seven games.
Seattle (10-5-8) had entered the match with five wins in their last six contests.
