SAN JOSE, Calif., July 31 (UPI) -- Dwayne De Rosario scored a pair of second-half goals Saturday, sparking D.C. United to a 2-0 victory over San Jose.
The game was scoreless until the 57th minute, when De Rosario gathered the ball behind the San Jose back four, settled it and sent a curling a shot over goalie Jon Busch, who was caught creeping off of his goal line.
De Rosario struck again 10 minutes when he worked a give-and-go with Chris Pontius before connecting on a laser into the far upper corner of the goal.
D.C. United (6-6-8) improved to 4-3-3 away from home.
San Jose fell to 5-8-9.
