MILWAUKEE, July 31 (UPI) -- Prince Fielder's single in the eighth inning Sunday sent home the go-ahead run and the Milwaukee Brewers went to a 5-4 victory over Houston.
The Astros had forged a 4-4 tie in the top of the eighth on a wild pitch uncorked by Francisco Rodriguez (2-1), but the Brewers came right back in the next half-inning to regain the lead.
Ryan Braun led off with a double off Fernando Rodriguez (2-1) and Fielder (3-for-4) then hit a sharp grounder up the middle to plate the go-ahead run.
John Axford made it hold up with a 1-2-3 ninth for his 31st save, and the first-place Brewers completed a three-game sweep over the lowly Astros.
Yuniesky Betancourt and Jonathan Lucroy each drove in a pair of runs for Milwaukee.
Jason Bourgeois clouted a three-run homer for Houston, which fell to a major league-worst 35-72.
