CINCINNATI, July 31 (UPI) -- Johnny Cueto fired a three-hit shutout and Joey Votto drove in four runs Sunday, pacing the Cincinnati Reds' 9-0 rout of San Francisco.
Cueto (7-4) issued a single walk and struck out six, allowing only one Giants runner to reach as far as second base.
The right-hander, who was victimized for six unearned runs in his previous start, tossed 82 of his 111 pitches for strikes as Cincinnati swept a three-game series from the National League East leaders.
Votto's RBI single in the first inning opened the scoring and he added a three-run homer in the second. Todd Frazier hit his first career homer and Jay Bruce chipped in with a pair of RBI for the Reds.
San Francisco's Barry Zito (3-4) was touched for five runs on eight hits in a five-inning start.
