Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

CINCINNATI, July 30 (UPI) -- Mike Leake held the Giants to one earned run in a 6 1/3-inning start Saturday and the Cincinnati Reds dispatched San Francisco 7-2.
Leake (9-6) broke a personal three-game losing streak, letting in two runs (one unearned) on eight hits, walking none and striking out seven for the Reds, who clinched their three-game set against the Giants.
The Reds scored five times in the first inning, highlighted by two-run singles from Jay Bruce and Chris Heisey.
San Francisco's Madison Bumgarner (6-10) was roughed up for seven runs (five earned) on seven hits before exiting after four innings.
Pablo Sandoval went 3-for-5 with a solo homer for the Giants.
