ST. LOUIS, July 28 (UPI) -- Carlos Lee had two RBI Thursday in rallying the Houston Astros from an early two-run deficit to a rare winning streak with a 5-3 victory over St. Louis.
The Astros, owners of the worst record in the majors, have won back-to-back games for only the second time since June 19. Their longest winning streak of the year has been four games.
Lee began Houston's comeback from a 3-1 hole with an RBI single in the fourth and he scored later in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Chris Johnson.
Jason Bourgeois drove in starting pitcher Wandy Rodriguez with a ground-rule double in the fifth to put Houston in front and Lee closed out the scoring with a homer in the sixth.
Rodriguez (7-7) won for the first time in five July starts, allowing five hits and striking out six in seven innings. Only one of the three runs he gave up was earned.
Jamie Garcia (10-5) was stuck with the loss, surrendering four runs on eight hits in six innings.
