
ARLINGTON, Texas, July 27 (UPI) -- A ninth-inning, pinch-hit double by Joe Mauer brought the winning home Tuesday in the Minnesota Twins' 9-8 road victory Texas.
Mauer drove in the second run of the inning off Neftali Feliz (0-2), who suffered both the loss and his fifth blown save of the season.
Jim Thome also had a pinch double in the inning. His shot to left field sent Delmon Young to third. Young scored the tying run on an error by shortstop Elvis Andrus.
Danny Valencia drove in two runs for the Twins, who were bombed by the Rangers Monday 20-6. Glen Perkins (3-1) pitched the eighth inning for the victory and Joe Nathan handled the ninth for his eighth save of the season.
Yorvit Torrealba had four RBI for the Rangers, including three on a four-run homer in the fourth inning off Twins starter Carl Pavano.
