
TORONTO, July 26 (UPI) -- J.J. Hardy smashed a pair of homers and Derrek Lee went 4-for-5 with five RBI Tuesday in the Baltimore Orioles' 12-4 pasting of Toronto.
Hardy launched a solo shot in the third and made it 7-3 Baltimore with a two-run blast in the fourth for the Orioles, who pounded out 16 hits en route to a win in the first of a three-game series.
Lee's two-run double in the second put Baltimore ahead for good and he added a two-run homer in the eighth to cap the scoring.
Nolan Reimold contributed a bases-empty homer and a run-scoring double for the victors.
Jake Arrieta (10-7) earned the win despite yielding four runs on five hits in five innings, walking two and striking out four.
Blue Jays starter Brandon Morrow (7-5) lasted only 3 1/3 frames. He was knocked around for seven runs (six earned) on nine hits.
Aaron Lind belted a three-run homer for Toronto.
