CHICAGO, July 25 (UPI) -- Carlos Quentin delivered a go-ahead, two-run double Monday and the Chicago White Sox moved to within one game of .500 with a 6-3 win over Detroit.
The White Sox (50-51) scored three times in the fifth to erase a 2-1 deficit and crept to within 3 1/2 games of the first-place Tigers in the American League Central standings.
Alexi Ramirez sent home Juan Pierre with the tying run with a two-out single. Paul Konerko was then intentionally walked and Adam Dunn drew an unintentional free pass off Detroit starter Duane Below (0-1) to load the bases.
Chance Ruffin relieved and Quentin greeted him by lining a pitch into the left-field corner for the go-ahead runs.
Paul Konerko and A.J. Pierzynski added solo homers in the White Sox victory.
Mark Buerhle (8-5) yielded two unearned runs on 10 hits over six innings to pick up the win.
Below, making his second career start, was touched for four runs on six hits before exiting after 4 2/3 innings.
Miguel Cabrera homered for Detroit, which saw its lead over second place Cleveland shrink to one game with the loss.
