NEW YORK, July 24 (UPI) -- Bartolo Colon hurled seven strong innings and Eduardo Nunez hit a go-ahead double Sunday in the New York Yankees' 7-5 victory over Oakland.
Colon (7-6) turned in his second straight solid outing for the Yankees, limiting the Athletics to two runs on eight hits over seven frames, walking only one and striking out four.
After David Robertson allowed two runs in the eighth, Mariano Rivera was summoned to make a four-out save and Yanks' closer responded with his 25th of the season.
New York grabbed the lead in the fourth when Russell Martin was hit by a pitch, Andruw Jones walked and Nunez lined a two-out, two-run double to left field.
Curtis Granderson clouted his 27th homer and Jones drove in a pair of runs for the Yankees, who took the rubber match of a three-game series with the A's.
Gio Gonzalez (9-7) was rocked for six runs on seven hits before exiting after only 4 2/3 innings for the A's.
Hideki Matsui had a big game against his former New York teammates, going 5-for-5 with a run scored.
