Noren lights up Stockholm with sizzling 63

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 23 (UPI) -- Alexander Noren shot a course-record 63 Saturday to take an 11-shot lead after three rounds of the Nordea Masters in Noren's hometown of Stockholm.

Noren heads into Sunday's final round at 20-under 196 with a seemingly insurmountable lead over American Bubba Watson, who stumbled with a double-bogey on the final hole and still finished with a three-under 69.

Noren eagled the par-5 ninth hole and carded five birdies on the back nine at the Bro Hof Slott Golf Club en route to a record low round for the course, but he fell short of the European Tour record for 54 holes.

"I never thought it would be possible to shoot these scores," said Noren. "It's hard to sink in. I never dreamt of playing like this here."

Noren said he planned to play another steady round on Sunday as he closes in on his third career European Tour title and second of the year.
