PHOENIX, July 23 (UPI) -- Dexter Fowler and Mark Ellis teamed for six hits, two RBI and four runs scored at the top of the order Friday to bring Colorado an 8-4 win over Arizona.
The Rockies produced 13 hits and rallied from a 3-0 deficit with a late surge.
Colorado trailed 4-3 going into the seventh but Fowler scored the tying run in that inning on a fielder's choice grounder from Troy Tulowitzki and Ellis delivered the go-ahead tally on Seth Smith's sacrifice fly.
Fowler tripled in a run in the eighth and scored on an Ellis single.
Colorado starter Aaron Cook survived just long enough to collect his first win of the season. Cook (1-5) gave up four runs on eight hits in six innings and became the winner when the Rockies took the lead in the top of the seventh.
Matt Belisle, Rex Brothers and Rafael Betancourt worked a relief inning each and kept Arizona scoreless the rest of the way.
Daniel Hudson (6-1) gave up the go-ahead run in the seventh to take the loss. He allowed five runs on 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings.
