MLB: Colorado 3, Atlanta 2

DENVER, July 21 (UPI) -- Carlos Gonzalez singled in Dexter Fowler from second with two away in the ninth inning Wednesday, lifting the Colorado Rockies to a 3-2 victory over Atlanta.

Colorado took advantage of an Atlanta error in the ninth to down the Braves for the second straight game.

Todd Helton put the Rockies in front with a two-run homer in the first but Atlanta fought back to tie it on an RBI double by David Ross in the second and a run-scoring single by Dan Uggla in the eighth.

Eric O'Flaherty was called on by the Braves to get the game into extra innings and he retired the first two batters he faced in the ninth. Atlanta third baseman Martin Prado then let a grounder by Fowler get past him for an error and Fowler made it all the way to second on the play.

Pinch-hitter Ty Wigginton was intentionally walked and Gonzalez followed by hitting the first pitch from O'Flaherty (1-3) into right field.

That gave the win to Huston Street (1-3), Colorado's closer who came on in the ninth to protect a 2-2 tie.
