HOUSTON, July 20 (UPI) -- Jason Michaels' pinch-hit, RBI single in the 11th inning Wednesday allowed the Houston Astros to squeak by the Washington Nationals 3-2.
The Astros threatened in the 11th when Humberto Quintero stroked a lead-off single against Todd Coffey (3-1), went to second on an Angel Sanchez sacrifice and to third on Michael Bourn's single.
Michaels then flicked an outside pitch into shallow center and Quintero trotted home with the game-winner, enabling the Astros to win their three-game series with the Nationals and log their first home series win since May.
Quintero and Carlos Lee also contributed RBIs for the Astros.
Wilton Lopez (2-4) was credited with the win after tossing two scoreless frames.
Washington starter Livan Hernandez went six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits.
Jayson Werth went 3-for-5 and bashed a two-run homer for the Nats.
