CINCINNATI, July 18 (UPI) -- Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson was arrested in Texas, authorities said. He was the third member of the team arrested in a week.

Benson was arrested Sunday on a misdemeanor assault charge.

Safety Marvin White was charged Thursday with disturbing the peace in Louisiana and cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones' was arrested in Cincinnati after an incident at a nightclub, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Sunday.

"The team is aware of the incidents," Bengals public relations director Jack Brennan said. "However, as with most situations of this nature, it would be inappropriate for the team to comment until the matters are resolved through normal legal channels."

Benson's arrest in Austin involved a conflict with a former roommate, the player's lawyer said.

"The two had difficulties resulting from Mr. Benson asking the former male roommate to leave his home a few days prior to this incident," attorney Sam Bassett said. "The conflict became physical ... and we intend to fully investigate. There is not enough information available at this time for further comment."

Benson posted $10,000 bond, the Enquirer reported.
