HOUSTON, July 16 (UPI) -- Humberto Quintero drove in the go-ahead run during an eighth-inning rally Saturday that carried the Houston Astros to a 6-4 win over Pittsburgh.
Trailing 4-3 going into the frame, the Astros stunned Pittsburgh with three runs to break a five-game losing streak and log only their second win in 12 games.
With one out, Hunter Pence stole third and broke for home when pinch-hitter Brett Wallace hit a grounder to shortstop Chase d'Arnaud, who fired to the plate but couldn't beat Pence in a play disputed by Pittsburgh catcher Michael McKenry.
Brian Bogusevic, running for Wallace, went to third when third baseman Brandon Wood mishandled a Clint Barmes grounder and came home with the go-ahead run on Quintero's looping liner to left off Jose Veras (2-3).
Sergio Escalona (2-1) earned the victory with a scoreless top of the eighth and Mark Melancon notched his seventh save for the Astros.
Neil Walker went 4-for-5 with a solo homer while Lyle Overbay and Wood also went deep for the Pirates, who fell a game behind St. Louis atop the National League Central.
