CHICAGO, July 16 (UPI) -- Mike Stanton went 3-for-5, socking a pair of homers and driving in four runs Saturday, keying the Florida Marlins' 13-3 rout of the Chicago Cubs.
Stanton's first homer, a solo blast, put the Marlins up 4-0 in the fourth inning, and his three-run shot in the next frame broke the game open for Florida.
Logan Morrison added a three-run homer and Hanley Ramirez went 3-for-4, including a two-run double to open the scoring in the first, and scored three times as the Marlins won for the seventh time in eight contests.
Javier Vazquez (6-8) held the Cubs to three runs on four hits over seven frames, walking none while striking out 10. Vazquez has walked only three batters over his last 37 innings.
Carlos Zambrano (6-5) came off the disabled list and was pounded for eight runs on seven hits before exiting after 4 2/3 innings for the Cubs.
