MLB: Toronto 7, New York Yankees 1

TORONTO, July 15 (UPI) -- Brandon Morrow held New York to a lone run over 6 2/3 innings Friday and teamed with three relievers in boosting Toronto to a 7-1 win over the Yankees.

The Blue Jays won their second in a row over New York despite the absence of third baseman Jose Bautista, who leads the majors with 31 home runs. Bautista sat out the game after twisting an ankle while sliding into third base during a 16-7 victory over the Yankees Thursday.

Toronto Manager John Farrell said Bautista might return to the lineup Sunday.

Morrow (6-4) gave up just four hits and struck out six, improving his record to 4-0 over his last six starts.

Neither Octavio Dotel nor Marc Rzepczynski allowed a base runner during the next two innings. The Yankees failed to score despite getting three singles off Jason Frasor in the ninth.

The Blue Jays won for the fifth time in a row overall.

Edwin Encarnacion broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth with a run-scoring double and Yunel Escobar paced the Toronto offense with three hits and two RBI. He singled in Toronto's opening run in the first and closed out the scoring in the eighth with an RBI base hit.
