ATLANTA, July 15 (UPI) -- Three RBI by Freddie Freeman and a seven-inning effort from Tim Hudson Friday lifted the Atlanta Braves to an 11-1 win over Washington.
The Braves recorded the 10,000th win in the history of the franchise, which was created in Boston 129 years ago. The Boston Braves moved to Milwaukee in 1953 and then to Atlanta in 1966.
Hudson (9-6) gave up a run on seven hits with seven strikeouts. He set down 12 straight batters at one point and picked up the win one day after turning 36.
Freeman singled in the first of four Atlanta runs in the opening inning and closed out the scoring with a two-run double in the seventh.
Martin Prado came off the disabled list after recovering from a staph infection and hit a solo homer for the Braves in the fourth. He also had an RBI single during a three-run sixth.
Atlanta got to Livan Hernandez (5-9) for six runs on eight hits in four innings. Five Washington errors made four of Atlanta's runs unearned.
