MLB: Texas 7, Oakland 6

ARLINGTON, Texas, July 10 (UPI) -- Josh Hamilton belted a two-run, game-winning homer in the bottom of the ninth Saturday, lifting the Texas Rangers to a 7-6 win over Oakland.

With Texas trailing 6-5 and down to its final out in the ninth, Elvis Andrus collected a single off Athletics closer Andrew Bailey (0-2). Hamilton then blasted a 2-0 pitch into the upper deck in right, handing the Rangers a walk-off victory.

Hamilton also hit two doubles, finishing 4-for-5 and driving in three runs as first-place Texas notched its sixth straight win.

Andrus and Yorvit Torrealba each added an RBI in the victory.

Hamilton's blast made a winner of Darren Oliver (2-5), who threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Coco Crisp and Josh Willingham each hit solo homers for the A's.
