NEWPORT, R.I., July 10 (UPI) -- Top-seeded John Isner won the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships Sunday with a straight-set victory over sixth-seeded Belgian Olivier Rochus.

Isner prevailed over Rochus 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) for his second career ATP singles title and first since last year's event in Auckland.

In terms of height, it was the biggest mismatch ever in an ATP final. Isner is 6 feet 9 inches tall while Rochus measures 5 feet 6 inches.

Isner, 26, was their consecutive American to win in Newport, following Rajeev Ram in 2009 and Mardy Fish, who downed Rochus in last year's final.
