MILWAUKEE, July 9 (UPI) -- Mark Kotsay finished off a three-run, ninth-inning rally with a two-run single Friday to give the Milwaukee Brewers an 8-7 victory over Cincinnati.

Kotsay hit a solo homer in the sixth and Milwaukee took over sole possession of the lead in the National League Central. He committed a fielding error in the seventh, however, leading to a three-run inning that gave St. Louis a 7-5 lead.

The Reds still had a two-run advantage in the ninth when Francisco Cordero took the mound, but he walked George Kottaras to open the inning. Kottaras took second on a wild pitch and scored on a one-out triple by Nyjer Morgan.

Morgan was then thrown out at the plate trying to score on Corey Hart's ground ball to shortstop, but Prince Fielder kept things going by drawing a walk and Casey McGehee reached on an infield single to load the bases.

That brought up Kotsay, who singled in the tying and winning runs.

Cordero (3-2) suffered the loss while Marco Estrada (2-5) claimed the win by working a perfect top of the ninth.

Rickie Weeks hit an inside-the-park homer for the Brewers and had an RBI double. Milwaukee won its third in a row.
