ANAHEIM, Calif., July 9 (UPI) -- Mark Trumbo homered on David Pauley's fourth pitch of the ninth inning Friday to give the Los Angeles Angels a 4-3 win over Seattle.
The Angels scored all of their runs on solo homers, Trumbo's shot following those from Erick Aybar in the first, Vernon Wells in the fourth and Hank Conger in the seventh.
Conger's home run tied it at 3-3 and was part of the sixth Los Angeles win in seven games.
None of Seattle's runs came on a base hit. Ichiro Suzuki had an RBI in the third with a groundout and the Mariners got sacrifice flies from Justin Smoak in the fourth and Brendan Ryan in the fifth.
Jordan Walden (2-2) did not allow a runner in the top of the ninth and received the win thanks to Trumbo's blast.
Pauley (5-2) had a 1.38 earned run average in 45 2/3 relief innings this season before giving up the game-winning homer.
