ATLANTA, July 9 (UPI) -- Jail records showed Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward was released from a Georgia lockup Saturday after being busted for alleged drunken driving.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Ward was booked into the DeKalb County Jail at 3:41 a.m. and sprung a few hours later after posting $1,000 bond.

Ward was charged with allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, TMZ.com reported.

Ward resides in Pittsburgh but played college football at the University of Georgia in the 1990s. He was the MVP of the 2006 Super Bowl and this year won the title on television's "Dancing with the Stars."

The Journal-Constitution said Ward had to pay a fine in 2006 in DeKalb County after being pulled over for speeding and reckless driving.
