Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW YORK, July 8 (UPI) -- Friday's game between the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees was postponed because of rain in New York.
The game will be made up Sept. 22, which was originally scheduled as a day off for both teams.
The decision leaves New York shortstop Derek Jeter's chase for 3,000 hits on hold. He's at 2,998. If he gets two more hits he will become the 28th player in the Major League baseball, and the first New York Yankee, to have at least 3,000 hits.
